Spirit Week, March 2009
.
So fun with friends!

Our students and staff enjoyed our annual Spirit Week, with emphasis on fun with friends.  Promoting the notion that school spirit and attitude improves when we all, staff and students alike, play together as well as pray together, we experienced more than 90% participation with the theme days.  Thank you, God, for a great week!
Go for it! You can do it! Fun to dress up with friends!
I love my school! Love these shades, ties, and hats!
Monday was Generic Day with all participants dressing up in combinations of black, white and/or gray.  Class team activity was the basketball shoot.  Teams had 2 minutes to make as many basketball shoots as possible.  Yes, the kindergartners participated too. We moved them much closer to the basket and lowered the hoop several feet.  They loved it!
Mrs. Altman and her kindergartners. So fun! Thank you God!
Staff and students having fun together! Hey Mr. Davis, can you help me with this tie?
Mrs. Novack and her great fourth graders. Junior high students can still jump rope!
Tuesday was Hat, Tie, and Shades Day.  It was fun to see what all were wearing, and it was fun to goof off together!  Class team activity was the team jumprope.  Students worked together as a class team, beginning with 6 members.  Their goal was to jump three successful jumps.  If they were successful, they moved on to the next round.  The winning classroom team had 14 jumpers this year.  Congratulations!
Can you guess what country we represent? Mrs. Kramer and an 'Arabian' student--FUN!
The teachers love to dress up too! Great friends with a fun dress up day!
Wednesday was International Day with all participants dressing up in their favorite country's attire.  Wow, did we ever get a wide variety--so fun!  Activity for the day was the soccer kick.  The top three kickers in each classroom represented their class team for this one.  Accuracy was the key.  If they made the kick, they moved on to the next round and the goal became narrower.  If they missed, the audience cheered for them anyway and congratulated them for giving it their best.
Mr. Davis and a great junior high student! As crazy as we can be! Fun!
I love this day! Can you guess who I am? Even Mrs. Fandrich gets a little crazy. Hey, they look alike!
Thursday was Wacky Tacky Day.  And it was just that, a very wacky, tacky dress-up day.  It was even difficult to tell who was who with a few students and staff.  Activity for the day was the relay race.  Congratulations to the kindergarten team for winning this event.  It is not always the older kids that win.  Way to go.  By the way, the classroom with the most participation got to sit on the stage in the gym for their lunch.
Concentrate! You can do it! Good thing you have those glasses on!
Friday was our Skate Party.  Following chapel, the entire school went to the skating rink for a great two hours of skating and blading.  Thank you, parents, for providing transportation.  It was a great week for the staff and students to socialize with fun and unusual dress-up and activity days.  Thank you God for a great week!
