Cell Cookie, September 2008
As part of their unit on the living cell, the junior high students were given the optional challenge of creating a cookie. This cookie was to be a replica of a living animal cell, complete with golgi bodies, ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, a nucleus, cytoplasm, etc. Almost all the students took Mr. Davis up on this academic bonus and really went for it. We have some great junior chefs.
Show-and-Tell day was FUN! Not only did the students display their great self-made and homemade cell cookies to their classmates, they also brought in their tutoring buddies (1st & 2nd graders) and explained all about the living animal cell.
Oh, and lunch was extra delicious. Yum!
