2008, Sep - Great Neighbor
For 20+ years our wonderful neighbor, Bernard Sanfelice, has been a joy to have immediately adjacent to our school. He loves young people, especially the students of our school. Often he will sit out in his back yard and just watch the vibrance and "politeness", as he calls it, with the teachers and students. For many years, he would gather up the balls in his backyard and return them over our fence to our students and staff, never complaining and always with joy. What a great neighbor.
As the years have rolled by, there has been much interaction between our students and Mr. Sanfelice. Kind notes and cards have been given, and he has saved every one. He has given the school several barbed wire displays and arrowhead collections.
 
It was recently that Mrs. Fandrich organized a birthday celebration for our kind neighbor. As he made his daily walk past our school, and not too far from the 5th & 6th grade classroom, the students and teacher invited him in for a brief celebration. Oh, was he surprised! And Oh, was he happy! 'Twas a great moment of wonderful joy. Hearts truly swelled a size or two this day. Thank you God for Mr. Sanfelice and for the kindness he has shown our students and staff over the years.
