Dress Code
The dress code is intended for the following purposes:
Behavior - there is a relationship between the way one dresses and the way one behaves.
Modesty
Equality - to minimize social distinctions
Focus - to reduce external focus
The assistance of parents is needed to guide students in applying the principles of the dress code.
Students are expected to dress in good taste as Christian young people for school-sponsored activities both on and off campus.
The school staff, and adults who assist with school activities, are role models for the students. The staff follows a professional dress code.
Parents or other adults who assist teachers, help with Home and School, hot lunches, field trips, or other school activities are also expected to set a positive example in their dress.
- Tops: Button-front polo shirts, oxford shirts, and turtlenecks. Only solid colors are to be worn. Any color may be worn.
- Sleeveless clothing is not acceptable.
- Midriffs are not to be exposed even with arms stretched overhead.
- A sweatshirt or sweater may be worn as an addition to the dress code top and must be a solid color, without logos, long-sleeved, and at least waist length, whether worn indoors or outdoors.
- Bottoms: Long pants, capri pants, cargo pants, skorts, skirts, jumpers, shorts or cargo shorts. Shorts and skorts must be below mid-thigh. Only solid colors are to be worn. Colors are navy, khaki (tan) or black. Pants are to fit at the natural waistline.
- Falcon school polo shirt is required for all field trips.
The following are not allowed:
- Denim (jeans) of any color
- Logos (except our school logo)
- Footwear without a heel strap
- Heelys
- Overly baggy clothing
- Tight-fitting clothing, including "skinny jeans"
- Low crotch
- Frayed or ragged clothing
- Leggings, sports shorts, or sweatpants
- Cosmetics that attract attention or look artificial
- Jewelry
- Tatoos
- Gang-related attire, including chains of any kind
- Belts that dangle
- Unnatural nail colors
| On a limited basis, the falcon school polo shirt and sweatshirt are available to rent for $4.00 each per day. Rented shirts are to be laundered and returned the following school day. |
