Cindy Corson sharing with students about the joy of service to others.

Our students supported a student missionary last school year.  Through their own dollars, grades K - 8 sent much-needed school supplies to Cindy Corson, missionary teacher of first grade at the Adventist School in Majuro, Marshall Islands.  Communicating through e-mail with Mrs. Altman, our kindergarten teacher and coordinator of this outreach endeavor, students got acquainted with students in another part of the world.  Many of them brought in pencils, construction paper, Band-Aids, erasers, markers, etc, etc.  For the great expense of mailing these items, students used their own $$--we call it the $10.00 Church Free Will Offering.  On one such mailing, the 15 boxes of supplies cost $517.00 for the 4-day shipping.  When the administration looked to see how much money was raised so far, they noted there was just $517.00 in the fund.  Praise God!  This past September, the students were finally able to meet Miss Corson in person, as they paid for the air fare to fly her into Sacramento from Portland, Oregon.  What a great day it was to meet the person they heard so much about for the past year.

Chatting with a future student missionary!
