Naomi Wooten was born in Japan, and her family moved to the US when she was four. She grew up mostly in California with her two younger brothers.
A product of Adventist education, Naomi went to SDA schools through college when she earned her Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from La Sierra College. She later got her Master's degree in Reading Instruction from Cal State Hayward. Although she had several administrative jobs outside of teaching, she always returns to the classroom where she enjoys interacting with young minds. Before coming to Orangevale, Naomi taught for 16 years in various positions. She taught 4th grade, English as a second language in Taiwan, in a small school (which, for the most part, was grades 1-8 in one room), and a grades 3-5 combination. At Orangevale, she has taught kindergarten, part-time in junior high, and 2nd grade.
Naomi has many interests, but her favorite pastime is scuba diving, especially in the cold waters of Monterey and Carmel. She enjoys dabbling in underwater photography.
Naomi has found her job at Orangevale to be very interesting, one in which a constant connection with God is necessary for wisdom and patience. She is grateful to be part of the Orangevale School where there is so much help, support, and friendship from parents, students, staff, and church family.
