Welcome to Junior High - Additional Activity Links Below
.

Falcons take an interest in others!     "No matter what, Falcons are the most polite and kind athletes, no matter what."  This is the slogan for the junior high program.  Respect and courtesy are a high priority at Orangevale.  Along with outstanding academics, including offering high school Algebra I to those ready,
Hey, I can do algebra! Sharing a few of our 17 styles of poetry.
promoting excellence with public oral presentations, training the students toward workable time management skills, and improving their language arts skills, the 7th & 8th graders receive much encouragement and guidance with life long skills.  The boys allow the girls to go first to lunch and the girls are encouraged to say thank you.  Respect tends to foster more respect, which the staff pray for daily.
In Arches National Park! Getting closer to God! With dad at Landscape Arch, Arches National Park
Extra curricular activities include education trips to Catalina Island one year and Utah the next,
I love my dad! Learning about marine mammals.
a poetry banquet every other year, a drama presentation for the Christmas program and a larger production during fourth quarter,
The maids and the queen. Fun drama! Maybe we should brighten others' lives too.
and sports.  The Falcons interact with other schools with flag football in the fall, volleyball around the holiday season,
So fun to run. Go Falcons! Love to challenge my skills - and- with a great attitude!
and basketball during the winter months.  Emphasis with sports is placed on supporting the team, being diligent, understanding about life with who wins or loses, and supporting each other, no matter what.
Great serve! Excellent bump and return shot!
If a junior high student wishes to participate with sports and is willing to be diligent with practices, they certainly will get to play.
Devotions during basketball tournament. Hey, we can sing too! Fun to shoot the basketball!
Junior high sports is about participation not who is the greatest athlete.
Do you see the Snowy Egret? Can you see the kidney's?
Science field study involves collecting insects one year and birding identification the other.  Both take place for one quarter during the school year.   Frog dissection is also an extra for the science program, taking place every other year.
Here's my cell, also known as a cookie! Singing with the mass choir at Choir Festival, every other year.
Emphasis on the group, as well as the individual, takes place during language arts classes.  Students are encouraged to "become thinkers and not mere reflectors of other's thougths."  The junior high students are also actively involved with tutoring the 1st & 2nd graders once a week.  This is an excellent opportunity for them to share themselves with others.  It is also a positive bonding time, as the 7th & 8th graders become heros to the younger ones, and the older ones discover that life is better when they take an interest in others, including kids younger than themselves.
Fun with my tutor! Congratulations graduate!
With computer technology a large part of the program, junior high students are encouraged to work toward excellent computer skills, including keyboarding, powerpoint, publisher, and simple programming.  At the end of the school year, the 8th graders are given a typing test, and a recommendation is given for them as they enter their high school years.
Congratulations graduates! You will be missed!
The staff do their upmost to help each student to take charge of their lives more and more.  Each morning, following a Godly devotional and a few laps in the gym to get the endorphines working, each student is encouraged to follow their schedule, stay focused when it is think time, maximize their time efficiency, and be diligent in all things.  The goal of the junior high program is to work hard during the week, complete all that is required, go home with no school work, and get recharged to start again the following week.
