Music
Orangevale SDA is a musical school. We offer a general music class to kindergarten. 1st -4th graders have choir twice a week. 5th-8th graders can take choir, bells, or band. If they choose not to be in a performing group, they may take a general music class. For those who wish to further pursue their enjoyment of singing, we offer a girls chorus, by audition only. Many students take private lessons, including piano, voice, flute, and guitar. As Mrs. Cunningham, music teacher, has put it, "Let's make music-makers out of our young people."![]() ![]() Punctual attendance is required for all performances for students who participate with choir, bell choir, and band. Lower grades may result from absences and/or tardies from these performances. A schedule of performances will be distributed at the beginning of the school year. Dress code for music performances for grades 5 - 8 is white shirts or blouses (with sleeves) and black dress pants or skirts. Private music lessons are offered, including piano, instrumental, and voice, and will be taught during and/or before and after school. Charges for music lessons will be included in the monthly school billing. Check out the choir festival, March 2010. ________________________ Additional links on this topic:
